I have always been interested in making photographs. I am the family member that takes photos to capture special moments to bring meanings or character to them. For the past year I have grown into taken photos of children for my projects and series. I have been drawn towards children because my family members, such as siblings, aunt, and cousins, all started to have children around the same time. Each child had different personality, and watching them grow while gaining knowledge on their own is amazing to see. It intrigued me and helped me find this as an interest in the subject matter. I wanted my projects to be on a personal level, but I also wanted to bring my own style with them. In my work I challenge myself with all different aspects dealing with children in a playful manner. Currently I’m photographing my nephew, Aden. I’m documenting his behaviors, emotions, how he interacts with people and places around him. I am fascinated with the idea of this work because I have been around him since he was born and seeing him go through stages from being a child to a young man has caught my attention. My sister is a single mom, so I help her as much as I can. I almost see Aden as my own child. My experience with living with him will present itself. His character grows and it will keep growing through out the series.
